What people say about us

Dr Sharmella was very Compassionate and very respectful - thank you so much for making Rex feel comfortable and at peace. It meant a lot to the family. Thanks again.

In what is such a sad and trying time, they were so caring and respectful of what we were feeling, and even more importantly were so kind and gentle with our dog, to give him the peace he deserved. Were eternally grateful to them and their service.

Dr Sharmila is the best! The service she provides is second to none. If you’re looking for a good vet - look no further! My dogs absolutely love her and Kai! Can’t recommend their services enough!

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for offering our family and our beloved boy Zeus such kindness, care and dignity as we said good bye to him yesterday. We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and caring send off. From the moment we contacted Companion Mobile Vets and heard such compassion on the other side of the phone, we knew we had made the right choice with Sharmila and the team. The painful decision to say goodbye to our boy was softened watching the time, compassion and careful attention he was given in his last moments. It was a gift to hold him under a shady tree, surrounded by family as he drifted painlessly to sleep after battling bone cancer and elderly age. Letting him suffer for any longer would have been a cruelty so although it was hard to say goodbye we were so grateful to offer him a peaceful farewell. Externally grateful for your service and the amazing work you all do in this industry. Thank you

Kora enjoys her visits and loves the vets at My Companion Mobile Vet. Their gentle approach reduces her stress levels, making the appointments easy and productive. It is also very convenient not having to take Kora into a vet clinic for her ongoing injections. The vets have always been respectful and listened to my opinions, including me in any decision rather than making decisions for me.

Dr Sharmila and Cai at My Companion Mobile Vets have been my go to vet for my dog Fritz over the past 3 years. They have conducted all his vaccinations, have regularly provided cytopoint injections and have manage Fritz's allergies and ear infections. Fritz is naturally a more on edge dog but Dr Sharmila and Cai have always made him comfortable and calm. Can not recommend My Companion Mobile Vet enough!

Dr Sharmila and Cai helped me when no one else could, not even my three year long standing vet clinic. As difficult as it is to say goodbye to your companion Dr Sharmila and Cai made the process beautiful. Thank you for allowing me to have the perfect goodbye for my precious little girl and at home turned out to be better than doing it at my usual vet clinic (blessing in disguise). It was in April but I have not been able to speak about it until now.

Dr Sharmila was responsive and available when I needed to say goodbye to my beloved pet. She was kind and compassionate and organised cremation at the last minute when I was bereft.

I can not speak highly enough of Dr Sharmila and Cai. This service is so exceptional. They were so professional and kind when helping us to make decisions for our old dog. They spent so much time with us and explained everything. I would highly recommended this service to anyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Pet euthanasia may be considered when a pet is suffering from a terminal illness, uncontrollable or untreatable condition or injury and is no longer able to live a comfortable, content and pain-free life. Quality of life is a key factor in the decision-making process. This can be difficult for pet parents to evaluate on their own – in these cases a quality-of-life assessment consultation with a veterinarian is recommended. Your veterinarian will provide guidance based on prognosis, available treatment options, individual needs and circumstances of the pet. Check out our dog euthanasia and cat euthanasia pages for more information on saying goodbye to your beloved pet.

The most humane way to euthanize a pet involves the use of a medication that is professionally administered by injection, which is designed to send the pet into a very deep sleep, like undergoing general anaesthesia and then passing away peacefully and painlessly. When possible, it is given intravenously. For our service, we insert and secure a cannula to ensure it enters the bloodstream as intended and so there are no adverse reactions from the medication leaking outside the vessel.

We recommend and always use sedation (+ pain relief). It is generally given as an injection under the skin prior to the euthanasia injection. This helps to reduce stress, pain, anxiety, and fear, so it is considered kinder and more humane to include sedation prior to euthanasia. Pet euthanasia at home is also considered kinder, it allows your beloved pet to be in a comfortable, familiar place.

Kittens and puppies should start getting vaccinated when they are around 6-8 weeks old. The vaccinations involve multiple shots given at certain times – the exact schedule may vary depending on the animal’s age, health status, and the vaccines used. Following the recommended vaccination schedule is crucial to keep the animal safe from dangerous diseases. See our vaccination page for more details.
The 5-in-1 dog vaccine, also referred to as C5, is a reliable method to safeguard your dog from prevalent and severe dog diseases. By introducing weakened or dead disease-causing organisms into the dog’s body, the vaccine stimulates the development of immunity against them. The vaccine offers protection against Parvovirus, Distemper virus, Canine Adenovirus vaccines, and infectious agents that lead to kennel cough.
